TrovaPage, the new global open internet marketplace, helps creators and other entrepreneurs focus on marketing without distracting from their creativity.
Co-founder Jingming Li on Tuesday announced the launch of the marketplace, although the website has been open to entrepreneurs in the creative industry over the past few months.
TrovaPage has no upfront setup costs and provides a complete e-commerce platform that allows entrepreneurs to create, sell and invoice services. User businesses range from yoga instruction and guitar lessons to small restaurants, individual astrology, and non-profit organizations.
The creators’ economy has grown over the past few years, especially during the pandemic. According to Li, advances in the Internet and cloud computing technologies are making it easier for people to promote and monetize their skills and hobbies through online platforms.
According to Lee, TrovaPage is different from other marketing platforms and standalone commercial website building platforms. Its target users are creators who are usually small store owners, people who have a home business, side businesses, and other professional skills that they want to build a business on.
“They usually don’t have a lot of resources to build sophisticated digital commerce-ready websites or applications. They also can’t spend a lot of money hiring SEO and marketing consultants to drive traffic to their websites, ”he told the E-Commerce Times.
Another approach meets the needs of the creator
The market for e-commerce solutions for selling products is competitive and mature. But it has failed to develop a comprehensive and holistic solution for creators who want to easily create, sell and monetize their own business.
Current solutions, such as sites for finding the best local businesses or online freelance marketplaces, are either too expensive or lacking in functionality. This is the problem that TrovaPage seeks to solve.
Trying to grasp all the custom CRM solutions, social media, billing and invoicing you need to run a business goes beyond most small businesses and writers. Instead, they struggle to effectively build, control, and monetize their brands while trying to maintain strong and lasting relationships with their customers. explained Lee.
With simple and intuitive mouse clicks, no code required, creators can turn their ideas, hobbies and experiences into real business on this trading platform. “TrovaPage is the first trading platform for the creator economy,” he added.
Li, a former vice president and CTO of AliPay, created TrovaPage to address this issue. He spent seven years at Alibaba, AliPay, and Ant Financial. During this time, AliPay has evolved from a nascent startup to a global financial technology hub, and AliCloud has become the largest cloud service in Asia. TrovaPage co-founder Anne Sun was the head of AliPay’s Trade Technology and International Products Division.
“For most creators, building their own websites using commercial tools like Shopify or Wix is too expensive and risky. As a result, most of today’s small business sites are simple static information sites, ”he said.
CRM without complexity
“Most of the existing marketing platforms like Facebook, Google, Yelp, Groupon and Fiverr use the list / review method, which typically requires small businesses to have their own websites and physical location, and pay expensive advertising fees.” explained Lee. All of this makes it difficult to measure ROI and does not provide reliable metrics for authenticating reviews.
“They don’t provide any mechanism for small businesses to build strong customer relationships,” Lee said.
TrovaPage is a vertically integrated global marketplace. He explained that he provides a stand-alone digital store in a virtual mall along with all the necessary technology tools, such as in-store utilities, to help run and assist the business.
TrovaPage includes platform networks with real-time connectivity to build a customer base instead of offline word-of-mouth advertising. Creators can ensure that their stores are discoverable through direct interaction, and they, in turn, can better understand their customers in order to offer a better experience.
“TrovaPage will level the playing field for small businesses and creators to play and win globally,” Lee predicted.
How TrovaPage works
Users create their digital marketplace in two stages. First, they describe their business. They then upload photos and videos that highlight their products and services.
To improve marketing efforts, TrovaPage allows creator merchants to instantly activate e-commerce on existing websites and social media pages by linking to TrovaPage’s e-shopping cart via simple plugins. The creator platform also allows offline stores to accept online orders and payments via QR codes.
Interactive live streaming channels allow creators and small businesses to unleash their creativity. They can attract, sell and sell directly to their users.
Another feature allows merchant creators to chat with potential and existing customers. This capability makes it easier to keep in touch with customers through community updates.
Other CRM tasks include automated and carefully curated recommendations that help drive growth and overall business success. It’s the same with the ability to instantly send invoices to customers and accept payments from any customer with a valid email address.
TrovaPage helped Harish Negi, owner and president Didi Restaurant, overcome the limitations the pandemic has placed on his business.
“When Covid came along, we were hit hard as we had to give up dining indoors. TrovaPage allowed us to quickly establish a web presence and accept orders and payments directly from our customers, ”Negi told the E-Commerce Times.
Using TrovaPage has reduced costs by eliminating middlemen. He also explained that this helped Negi better understand customers and tailor the menu to the specific tastes of the community.
One missing service, physical delivery
“TrovaPage does not directly offer logistics services to creators,” Lee said. But there are many logistics solutions.
After all, many logistics services can organically become part of the creators ecosystem. However, digital products can be delivered directly through TrovaPage.
Lee sees creators’ economics as the natural development of small businesses. As the Internet continues to erase boundaries and restrictions, more people will be able to use technology platforms like TrovaPage to become creators, benefit communities, and be compensated for their services.
“Platforms like YouTube and TikTok have shown early success and helped grow a new class of content creators. However, 95% of creators do not receive a salary. People need to have more than just Uber and DoorDash as alternatives to income, ”Lee said. …
Availability and cost
TrovaPage is immediately available to anyone looking to start building a brand and monetizing their business. All service fees have been waived for the first six months to help creators start their businesses.
The company charges a commission for each completed transaction originating from TrovaPage.com. This includes credit card processing fees. The standard fee is based on either commissions starting at 10% of sales, or monthly subscriptions starting at $ 19.99, depending on the size and type of business, Lee said.
“We understand that the small business environment is challenging. [for creators]especially during a pandemic; we want to contribute to its success by providing the ideal technology platform and pricing to minimize their risks, ”Lee said.
TrovaPage, a Delaware corporation, is headquartered in San Francisco.
