Fans of this hit series will get even more of their favorite shows.
Several major announcements take place in Bridgerton The universe today. Netflix has announced a spin-off series for the Queen Charlotte character as well Shonda Rhimes herself going to write and executive produce, with Betsy Beers as well as Tom Verika also executive producer. In the same time, Jess Brownell – who has worked on several different Shondaland shows – will become showrunner in the next seasons of the main show. Bridgerton show.
So what’s the deal with the limited edition spinoff income? Well, this is pretty much a prequel to the current Bridgerton schedule. The plot will revolve around three of the series’ most iconic female characters, including Lady Danbury, Violet Bridgerton (apparently in her younger years), and will have a strong focus on the rise of Queen Charlotte. It is worth noting that Queen Charlotte never appeared in the Bridgerton series of novels (by Julia Quinn). But the character’s presence on the show has been so popular with fans that Netflix and Rhimes are going for a fairly safe game, and the show about her rise to power will resonate with their target audience.
Brownell, who served as executive editor of 8 of Bridgertonepisodes and also wrote 5 of Scandalin episodes between 2015-2018, clearly has the experience to earn herself a new spot in the upcoming seasons 3 and 4. There was also news that she would be playing an important role in the upcoming Netflix / Shondaland series. Inventing Anna, although it is not known in what capacity.
Bridgerton Season 2 is currently filming, but Netflix has yet to announce a release date. You can watch all 8 episodes of the first season exclusively on Netflix (with a premium subscription, of course).
