The Forum reviewed the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the Eid al-Adha and expressed satisfaction with their implementation in the provinces.
The Forum appreciated the efforts of all stakeholders, especially the cooperation provided by the public across the country to comply with NPOs and security protocols.
The Forum, after reviewing existing non-pharmaceutical activities (NPI), decided to reopen public transport between provinces, between cities and within the city from May 16, 2021, instead of the previously planned date of May 17.
“However, the transport will operate with a 50% passenger load,” the Forum decided.
The Forum decided that the railways will maintain their work at 70 percent utilization.
However, all markets and shops will be open until 20:00 from May 17 (Monday) onwards.
It was also decided that from May 17, normal office hours would resume, while the 50 percent work from home condition would remain in effect.
It was also noted that verification of the remaining NPOs will be carried out on May 19.
The Forum emphasized the need for continuous monitoring of SOP compliance and encouraged the public to comply with these SOPs.
The forum also called on the public to pre-register for 1166 before going on vaccinations.
The special meeting of the NCOC was chaired by the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Assad Umar, and the Co-Chair by the National Coordinator Lieutenant General Hamoud Uz Zaman Khan.
Dr. Faisal Sultan also attended SAPM Health and the provincial chief secretaries attended the session via video link.
