Munich [Germany], May 15 (ANI): Bavaria attack Robert Lewandowski set Gerd Müller’s record on Saturday, scoring 40th place. Bundesliga goal of the season.
Lewandowski has achieved success in Bundesliga match against Freiburg. As a result of a goal scored in this match, he became the second player to score 40 goals in one competition season.
World Cup winner Müller scores 40 goals for Bavaria in Bundesliga back in 1971-72. The former West German national team player remains the club’s top scorer, scoring 565 goals in 15 years, according to Goal.com.
Lewandowski scored 55 goals in all competitions last season and 45 goals this season.
In the match against Freiburg, he scored in the 26th minute, successfully scoring a goal from the penalty spot.
Lewandowski was with Bavaria since 2014 and is now approaching 300 goals per club.
Last week, Bavaria sealed Bundesliga title, and this is the ninth year in a row that the team has managed to win the title.
The match between Bayern Munich and Freiburg ended on Saturday with a score of 2: 2. In the final match of the championship, the team will face Augsburg. Bundesliga season on Saturday 22 May.
