ABU DHABI, 15 May 2021 (WAM) – The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced that it has performed 161,182 additional COVID-19 tests using state-of-the-art medical equipment in the past 24 hours.
In a statement, the ministry highlighted its goal to continue scaling up testing across the country to facilitate early detection of coronavirus cases and provide the necessary treatment. As part of its intensified testing campaign, MoHAP announced 1,321 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total of reported cases in the UAE to 544,931.
According to the ministry, infected people of different nationalities are in a stable condition and receive the necessary assistance.
MoHAP also announced three deaths due to complications from COVID-19, bringing the country’s total to 1,629.
The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished patients with COVID-19 a speedy and complete recovery. He called on all members of society to work with health authorities, adhere to guidelines and maintain physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.
MoHAP also noted that another 1,302 people have fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total to 525,080 people who have recovered.
