SHARJAH, May 15, 2021 (WAM) – Sharjah Police have confirmed the success of their comprehensive security plan, implemented during the Eid al-Fitr holiday in all Sharjah cities.
The success of their plan reflected effective strategic planning developed by the police headquarters and strategic partners, while the Sharjah police strengthened their security presence and patrolling in various regions and districts of Sharjah.
In addition, Sharjah police ensured the safety of the internal and external roads of the emirate, as well as the eastern and central regions for traffic, which contributed to the achievement of goals in line with the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ strategy to improve security.
Colonel Jassim bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Police Operations Department, highlighted the efforts of various groups to secure mosques, shopping malls and parks, resulting in increased security and improved quality of life.
He said that from May 11 to May 14, their operating room and call center received 21,219 phone calls at the emirate level. All calls, reports and inquiries were processed after first responder assessment to ensure immediate dispatch to the scene in coordination with police departments.
Lt. Col. Omar Bu Ghanim, Deputy Director of the Traffic and Patrol Department of Sharjah Police, confirmed that driver awareness and road safety have contributed to the success of the plan. Bu Ghanim added that no deaths were recorded during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, despite heavy traffic.
