New Delhi [India]May 15 (ANI): Cricket Control Council of India (BCCI) developed a solid plan for the national team before leaving for the UK to play in the World Cup Testing (WTC) final against New Zealand and a test streak of five matches against England…
Speaking to ANI, sources familiar with the roadmap said that all players must complete three RT-PCR tests before being assembled in Mumbai on May 19.
“Players will take three RT-PCR tests at their homes, and once they come back negative, they will meet in Mumbai on May 19th. All contingent members will undergo a 14-day quarantine in India before they leave for the UK on June 2, ”the source said.
Almost all members of the Indian contingent traveling to the UK took their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and they will most likely receive a second shot in the UK itself.
Earlier, speaking about vaccination of players, BCCI the official said: “The Government of India has opened vaccinations for everyone over the age of 18 so that players can take their first dose. BCCI is considering the possibility of close cooperation with England and the Wales Cricket Council so players can get a second dose in the UK; if it is not approved by the UK government, we will receive the vaccine from India for the second dose. Let’s see how it works in the coming days. “
IN BCCI named a 20-man team (two subject to a suitability test), which will also have four substitutes. Of the four reserve players, three are fast bowlers – Prasid Krishna, Avesh Khan, Arzan Nagvasvalla. The day after the roster was announced, Prasid tested positive for COVID-19 but is expected to be ready to leave.
